Privacy and cookies

Plain English: what we collect, why, and your rights. Last updated 14 October 2026.

Who we are

East Mids Energy (eastmidsenergy.co.uk) is run by Scott Humphris, a sole trader based in Nottinghamshire. He is the "data controller" for information collected through this site. Contact: [email protected].

What we collect and why

Claim, add or remove form. If you use our installer form, we receive what you type: name, business details, email, phone and your message. The form is delivered to us by Web3Forms, which acts as our processor. We use it only to create, update or remove listings and to reply to you. Our lawful basis is your consent and our legitimate interest in keeping the directory accurate. We keep form messages for as long as we need them for your listing, and delete them when you ask us to.

Newsletter (optional). If you sign up, we store your email address and when you confirmed. Our mailing provider Resend acts as our processor: it stores your address and sends the confirmation email and the newsletter. We only add you after you click the link in the confirmation email (double opt-in). Our lawful basis is your consent. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any newsletter, or by emailing us, and we will then delete your address.

Analytics cookies (optional). With your permission, we use Google Analytics 4 to count visits and see which pages are useful. It sets cookies (names starting _ga) and Google processes data such as pages viewed, device type and approximate location. IP addresses are not stored by GA4. We have turned off advertising features. Nothing is loaded and no analytics cookies are set unless you click "Accept". Your choice is saved in your browser's local storage (em_consent) so we don't ask every time. You can change it at any time using "Cookie settings" at the bottom of every page. See Google's privacy policy.

We do not sell your data or use it for advertising.

Where the directory data comes from

Installer listings come from the GOV.UK OZEV chargepoint installer finder and contain public sector information licensed under the Open Government Licence v3.0, plus postcode data from postcodes.io (ONS/OS, OGL). Installers can ask us to correct or remove their listing at any time via the claim page or by email.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you can ask to see the information we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, object to or restrict how we use it, and withdraw consent at any time. Email [email protected] and we'll reply within one month.

If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, please tell us first. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office: ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint.
